Key Statistic

According to the CDC, drowning is the leading cause of unintentional injury death for children ages 1–4. TAETI's resources help communities address this preventable crisis with actionable data and training.

Monthly Reports

Our monthly drowning reports compile incident data from across the U.S., helping aquatic professionals identify trends, allocate resources, and implement evidence-based prevention strategies. Reports are updated on the first of each month and are free to download.

The Drowning Report — August 2026

209 fatal drowning incidents recorded in August 2026 — the lowest August in the six-year record, running 19.9% below the five-year August mean of 261. 74% of the shortfall is concentrated in lakes.
